Kit Paulson
"A Simple Framework: Structural Flameworking"
June 13 - 17 (5-day workshop)

Starting with basic borosilicate flameworking techniques, this class will focus on building structures in solid glass (with some forays into hollow objects). Using a kiln shelf and working directly from scale drawings, students will learn to construct complex forms from small motifs. Beginners welcome, students can expect to learn the fundamentals of borosilicate flameworking as well as techniques more specific to this method of building. Bring grand ideas, a pencil, a drawing compass and expect to learn through demos, illustrated hand-outs, slide shows and hands on practice.

This class meets from 9am to 5pm each day, Monday through Friday, with additional studio time Monday through Thursday, from 5pm to 9pm. Materials for participating in the course are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you.
